Chief Technology Officer (permanent part-time position for 2-3 days per week)

As a CTO, you will have a seat at the strategy table of the business and be responsible for managing a development team responsible for key digital products that are at the core of AOM’s offering. Your primary responsibility will be setting tech strategy, architecture and overseeing development with accountability for on time, on budget delivery of the roadmap however you should be sufficiently hands on to be able to roll up your sleeves when required and delve into the code



  • Passionate about the effects of mentoring and enjoy challenging, innovative and disruptive projects
  • Programing knowledge some or all of these PHP, MySQL, CakePHP, HTML5, CSS and Python
  • Experience in AWS management or a major competitor (Azure, Google, etc.)
  • Understand of opportunities presented by AI and Machine Learning
  • Extensive knowledge and expertise in scoping work, the use of project management methodologies and tools
  • Experience in API integrations between systems
  • Learning Management System and eLearning previous experience is a plus
  • Competent in building a high-performing and committed project team
  • Knowledge in international compliance and security standards
  • Experience across multiple working methodologies (Agile, Hybrid, etc.).



This role is a permanent part-time position. AOM is a technology enabled business so the role has significant longevity and offers competitive salary but also offers the CTO:

  • Flexible working conditions – work from home, a coworking space of your choice or at our Sydney Office
  • Regular travel to Bellingen (our HQ number 2)
  • Access to mentors and our advisory panel, if and when needed
  • Can become a full-time role in future if desired

Our team is spread across Australia but the directors are regularly in Sydney and intermittently in Melbourne.
