Why is mentoring important to you?
“I’ve seen it change lives. Often. There are not too many other learning programs that can say that. I love hearing people describe their experience at the end of a mentoring program. It’s inspiring and reminds me, every day, of the special power of a mentoring relationship to uplift, build confidence and help people reach their dreams.”
Melissa’s experience in mentoring spans over 20 years in the private, public and not-for-profit sectors.
Melissa discovered early on that her greatest contribution to workplace performance, harmony and culture was through mentoring. She has seen the recipients of mentoring bring a room full of people to tears as they described how the mentoring experience had changed their lives. It’s become her life’s work and personal mission to make that life-changing opportunity available to more people who need it.
Melissa is a global assessor for the European Mentoring and Coaching Council’s ISMCP Award (International Standards for Mentoring and Coaching Programs). She has post-graduate qualifications in organisational coaching, counselling and marketing strategy.
Melissa directs the Art of Mentoring research agenda and regularly speaks on mentoring best practice.
